An aerial TV is placed to receive TV signals that a tower broadcaster transmits. The proper installation of this device requires that the antenna be placed in a position that is high, like the roof. This ensures that structures, trees, and other objects that are positioned between the tower and the antenna won’t interfere with the signal. It is not necessarily the skills of an electrician to set up this antenna, but you’ll require some hardware store items to complete the task. Here are some guidelines for the installation of a TV aerial.
1. Find a website to find Broadcast Tower locations.
If you visit this website, you’ll be asked to input your zip code in order you can locate the tower that is in your area. Note the direction you want to go using the paper.
2. Make Yourself to the Roof
Take a compass and keep it up in front of you. Make sure you are in alignment with the direction you took note of. Also, note down the location of a landmark or object that lies in the order in which the broadcast towers are located.
3. Mount an Antenna on the Roof
Once you’ve started taking this step, be sure that your antenna is not going to be blocked by any other objects within. Wood screws should be inserted through the holes of the bracket and through your roof. You can use an electric screwdriver that has the Philips-head tip to screw the screws into.
4. Seal the Roof
The screw should be covered with silicone sealant to ensure that it’s free of any foreign elements. Before proceeding, let the glue set for at least an hour.
5. Lock the Screw
The screws are found at that bracket’s collar. They can be removed with a screwdriver. It is essential to know that the type of screwdriver you need to employ will depend on the bracket’s manufacturer.
6. Place the Pole on the bottom of the TV Aerial.
You must do this using the top collar of the bracket. The pole needs to be run down until it’s capable of hitting the lower portion of the frame. The rods that extrude around the aerial will be able to be facing the broadcast tower’s direction. You must secure the screws that hold collars.
7. Connect the Coaxial cable end to Aerial End’s Coax Output
Then, you’ll be required to run the cable to run across your roof and along the sides of your building until you get to an opening on the floor where your TV is. The line needs to be attached to your roof with roofing staples.
8. Drill the Window Hole
The hole should allow you to run the cable through. It should be run down your wall and then along the baseboard of your wall until you get to the television. The free end of the cable should be plugged into the TV’s coax “Ant” input connector. The line should then be attached to the baseboard by using U-clamp staples. You will also require silicone sealant on the holes on two sides to ensure that the home will be completely sealed off from all external elements.
