Our founder, Dave Angulo, is an experienced professional consultant, with nearly 30 years experience in software development.

Dave started programming C in 1973, while still in high school. At that time, C was not a publicly released language. He was working with Bell Labs, so they sent him a 20 page manual entitled "C, a language derived from the previous B language."

Dave started programming C++ in 1985. At that time, there were no C++ compilers; there was only a precompiler that converted C++ code into C code. This was called C-Front. In order to debug the code, one needed to understand the internals of the preprocessor to understand how the C code was generated and how the name mangler worked.

Dave was an early developer in XML, programming with it in 1985 when it was still SGML. At that time, Dave was working on an automated C++ program to parse SGML (XML) documents into components and store them into a relational database.

Dave's C++ efforts were concentrated in using GoF Design Patterns since the mid 90"s, and in using Test Driven Development (TDD, Test First, Test Early, Agile Methodology, Scrum) since the early 00"s. For more details on his capabilities in these areas, see the Agile page

Dave has always concentrated on high quality, well tested, well documented coding. Hiw early work in C++ involved creating a library of reusable classes for use in varied applications corporate wide. He has taught these methodologies to students at Loyola, University of Chicago, and DePaul, doing much more than just talking at students, but poring over every line of code and giving students detailed, in-depth feedback on creating high quality code.
